[Lily's set herself up in the library in her house. There's a cauldron in front of her, a small flame flickering beneath it. She stirs the pot three times clockwise, and then four counterclockwise.]

Hello, Vatheon. There are quite a few new people floating about again, so I thought this was a perfect time to post. I'm Lily. As you can see I've been doing a bit of potion brewing. I finally made it down to the Nostalgia Nook, and the shop from my world is absolutely brilliant.

[She pauses to check her potions book and adds an ingredient, tapping the cauldron twice with her wand. Potions is very complicated and delicate.]

I stocked up on ingredients, so after I brewed a few potions for friends of mine, I thought I'd brew a few other useful ones. First of all a big batch of Pepper-Up. [She gestures to the cauldron.] That'll be a cure for the common cold. And hangovers. So if anyone's feeling a bit under the weather, let me know.

That said, [She turns the heat under the cauldron down.] Equius. Sollux. I'm ready when you are.

Oh. Yes, that's definitely true. Everyone specializes eventually, I think. That's how you find a career.

Well...yes. What did you think we'd do once we graduated from school?

The same kinds of things my classmates ever considered after graduation!

Well they probably went to do things they'd been learning about. Maths or science or literature. We study magic for seven years. And then we use our education.

I suppose that makes sense, except that I haven't even started studying the thing I want to be my career yet and I'm nearly 19. Sure, basic biology and geography are the cornerstones of it, but they wouldn't even get me a desk job at those institutions.

Well then perhaps you'll go to university? A lot of muggles do that.

I was about to do that, yes, in just a few months. I had a flat in the city set up and everything.

What were you going to study? Or rather, what will you study when you go back?

Marine Biology - the fact I'm even going to study at all is immensely satisfying.

Probably not in my first year - perhaps if I were to get an internship.

Well, I don't exactly need a submarine to see some marine life. There's an orca whale back home in our bay named Suiki that seems to like me.

Well yes, of course. I just think submarines are very interesting. I don't think most wizards have any interest at all in the deep sea.
