[Lily's set herself up in the library in her house. There's a cauldron in front of her, a small flame flickering beneath it. She stirs the pot three times clockwise, and then four counterclockwise.]

Hello, Vatheon. There are quite a few new people floating about again, so I thought this was a perfect time to post. I'm Lily. As you can see I've been doing a bit of potion brewing. I finally made it down to the Nostalgia Nook, and the shop from my world is absolutely brilliant.

[She pauses to check her potions book and adds an ingredient, tapping the cauldron twice with her wand. Potions is very complicated and delicate.]

I stocked up on ingredients, so after I brewed a few potions for friends of mine, I thought I'd brew a few other useful ones. First of all a big batch of Pepper-Up. [She gestures to the cauldron.] That'll be a cure for the common cold. And hangovers. So if anyone's feeling a bit under the weather, let me know.

That said, [She turns the heat under the cauldron down.] Equius. Sollux. I'm ready when you are.

...maybe the potion isn't working as well as I thought. Or it's already wearing off. It didn't last long and it was too strong to begin with...

Yes but...think about him. He's got friends and a family and...would you want someone to just go around shooting your friends because they were mildly irritated with them? If you shoot someone they can't ever do anything ever again. Because they bothered you for just a moment.

You pass your exams all right, but that's not the same thing. You have to want to be good at potions to really make them correctly.

Have you met any of the trolls? There are a dozen of them all together, and they're not like the trolls from our world, they're from another planet. They're clever and brilliant and...well I've gotten to know several of them very well over the past two months.

As a race they have two main emotions that drive them. Pity and hate. Positive and negative. So a lot of them fight all the time, and find those rivalries to be a positive thing. However, two of them...Equius and Sollux...they hate one another enough that they need someone to keep them from killing one another. So they've asked me to do that.

Equius is an accomplished inventor and mechanic and has crafted a new pair of eyes for Sollux, who is blind. They hate each other so it would be very bad if something happened during the procedure to implant the eyes. So I've brewed a few potions. To calm Equius, to help Sollux sleep, and to relieve Sollux's pain.

Well it's kind of important. This thing, with them asking me to mediate between them...they consider it a romantic relationship. A platonic one, but still.
